Yamaha reface CP piano
The TYPE rotary switch on the Yamaha reface CP keyboard lets you visibly switch between six sounds (instruments):
- Rd I (Rhodes)
- Rd II (another Rhodes)
- Wr (Wurlitzer)
- Clv (clavinet)
- Toy (toy piano)
- CP (electric piano)
The device has another sound though, which is hidden in between - an acoustic piano. I believe it’s the same sound than what Yamaha used on their YDP-181 keyboard - one of the two grand piano settings.
Make sure that the CP is powered off. Rotate the TYPE switch in such a way that it ends up in between two of the sounds - you’ll have to be gentle. Power it on and there it is, you should hear the piano.
